Your options

Refix or switch?

Both can be the right answer. It depends on the rates on offer, your plans and any costs to move.

Refix with your current bank

Often the simplest option. We'll check the rate you're offered is competitive and help you choose the right term and split.

  • No new application
  • We negotiate the rate
  • We help you choose the fixed term and how to split it

Switch to a new lender

Worth it when another lender offers a better rate, a cashback or features that suit your plans.

  • A full rate comparison
  • We handle the new application
  • We work with your lawyer on the switch

Cashbacks and break fees

Cashbacks

Lenders often pay a cash contribution when you move your loan to them. Most require you to pay it back if you leave within a set period, often three to four years. We'll always tell you the conditions up front.

Break fees

If you leave a fixed rate early, your lender may charge a break fee. It usually depends on how much rates have moved since you fixed. Sometimes breaking still saves money overall, and we'll do the maths with you.

Self-employed?

Lending for business owners

If you're self-employed or a contractor, lenders look at your income differently. Most want two years of financial statements, but some will consider less.

We know which lenders are flexible with self-employed income and how to present your application.
