How we collect, use and protect your personal information under the Privacy Act 2020.
Kiwinest Financial Limited ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and your rights under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. We may update it from time to time; the current version is always on this page.

- for insurance claims, which may involve insurers, claims assessors and medical practitioners
- to meet our regulatory, compliance and reporting obligations, including to Newpark 2020 Limited
- to check in with you about your loan and cover over time
- to run and improve our business.
Who we share it with
We only share your information for the purpose we collected it, or as allowed or required by law. This may include lenders, insurers, Newpark 2020 Limited (our licensed Financial Advice Provider), and professionals involved in your application or claim. We may also have to share information with regulators, government agencies or law enforcement.
Some of our service providers, such as cloud storage and software providers, may store information outside New Zealand. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect it to a standard comparable to New Zealand law.
How we store and protect it
We keep your information in secure digital systems with restricted access. We keep client records for at least seven years, as required for financial advice, and then securely destroy them unless the law requires us to keep them longer.

If there's a privacy breach
If a privacy breach happens, we'll contain it, assess how serious it is, notify you and the Privacy Commissioner where the breach is likely to cause serious harm, and review our processes to prevent it happening again.
